Welcome Back to Movies and Music ~~ The 2019 Edition ~ Get Happy!

This year Movies and Music, and meaningfulmemmorymaker.com have one mission ~~ Happiness through reminiscing!

As we once again visit 12 of the finest Movie Musicals ever made, we will do so in a fresh way. 

When we hear  Judy Garland and  Bing Crosby singing (Easter Parade, Meet Me in St. Louis, Holiday Inn, White Christmas), see Gene Kelly dancing (Brigadoon,  Singin’ in the Rain), and  characters coming together as  couples, (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Music Man, Oklahoma), or listen to great music,  (Fiddler  on the Roof, The  Glenn Miller Band in Orchestra Wives), or find a musical history lesson in 1776, we will explore:

What memories do certain scenes or songs evoke that bring us comfort?

How can/do these films help us engage and reach those clients, residents, and family members who seem unreachable?

Generations have seen these films, are they still fresh? Why?

Does the Modern Musical hold up as well as the Classic Musical? Is it as memorable?

What makes certain actors or actresses our favorites?   What feelings do they evoke when we see them?

What do the films say about the period in which they were filmed?

How are memories colored by those times?

What is it about the Classic Movie Musical that makes us happy?
